Q: What is Botox®?
A: BOTOX® is a natural, purified protein that relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles creating a smooth, rejuvenated and more youthful appearance. It is most often used on forehead lines, crow‘s feet (lines around the eye) and frown lines. Since these usually appear due to excess use of facial muscles you may take a Botox® service at any age. Wrinkles caused by sun damage and gravity, however, will not respond to Botox.
Q: Is it safe?
A: Botox® is perfectly safe for everyone. In Kaya, Botox® is administered by our qualified in clinic dermatologists. There have been no allergic reactions associated with Botox® till date. The most common side effect is minor bruising, which is temporary. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a neurological disease then you should avoid using Botox®.
Q: What happens during a Botox® service?
A: During the service, a topical anesthetic cream is applied on the concerned area – this is done 1 hour before the service. After this, our trained dermatologist injects the required units of Botox® depending on the area and extent of fine lines and muscle mass.
Q: How long does the service take?
A: Botox® is a lunchtime fix – with this service it is possible to smooth out your wrinkles in only one session. One session takes about 75 minutes. Visible positive results are seen after one week from the session, the effects of which last for 4 – 6 months. However, since ageing is a continuous process, we recommend maintenance sessions once a month. To maintain the younger look we recommend repeat sessions once in 4-6 months.
Q: Do I need to take any precautions after the service?
A: Botox® requires no special post service care. Cleanse the area gently. Direct sun exposure to excessive sunlight should be avoided and a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15 should be used regularly. We advise you to avoid rigorous scrubbing of the face, make up, and other beauty parlor services for 12 hours post treatment. Facials and facial massages need to be avoided for 15 days Also avoid strenuous / gym exercise for a day.
